Trek Value Experience

In our Ward, we are preparing for a Pioneer Trek where we will dress in pioneer costumes and hike, while pushing or pulling handcarts with all the things we will need for 3 days and 2 nights.  Our Stake has really done a great job organizing the whole event and everyone is hard at work preparing.

Here is a "create your own"  value experience that you can  that you can use for Knowledge, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, or Integrity, that also goes along with our Pioneer heritage and the whole Trek theme in general.

Gain knowledge of and an appreciation for our pioneer heritage in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints.  Read:

  • Isaiah 2:3
  • Ether 12:30
  • Isaiah 57:13
  • Alma 26:12
Determine how these scriptures can be related to the sacrifices our pioneer ancestors made, and how they were able to overcome their challenges.  Consider how you can apply these principles to the challenges in your life.

Watch https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2010-10-04-reviewing-the-lessons-of-the-past?lang=eng  Contemplate how our upcoming “Pioneer Trek” will help you to face adversity in your life.

Determine how you can apply principles to your life, learning the lessons our ancestors faced and how that can help you make choices.

Record your thoughts in your journal and discuss with a parent or Young Women Leader.
